With the new school year many new teachers were brought, one teacher in particular is hoping to change future students and bring a new tradition. This man is theatre arts teacher, Christopher Perkins.

He would like to produce one or two Christmas plays to start his new tradition.

”I figured it would be nice to start a new tradition for the theater department,” he said “These students need more opportunities to display their talents and apply what I am teaching them.’’

The two plays are “Santa Sees a Shrink” and “Lights! Camera! Christmas!” they will be preformed on Dec. 1.

“I chose these plays because they are funny and have a good message,” Perkins said.

The cast has been decided, and have been working very hard.

“Actually being able to do a play that is not for competition, but more for fun is a new experience I’m enjoying,” actress Angela Marshall said. “Everyone involved is enjoying [the plays and Mr. Perkins].”

Students involved in the plays are certain Perkins will continue his “new tradition.”

“I’m confident he will continue to do this,” Marshall said.

Other than the students enjoying the plays, Perkins is as well.

“From what he [Perkins] has told me, he is really enjoying this year, and everything going on in the plays,” actress Shayla Ruebush said. “He’s getting the job done.”

Perkins hinted that there will be “a suprise for the audience.’’

Looking towards the future, students are confident that there might be a play in the spring.
“If there is a play [in the spring] than it won’t be a problem for us or him to do,” Ruebush said.
