Getting Personal: Mia Duarte

What’s your favorite color and why?
Okay, may sound weird, but it’s white. For some reason it always seems to catch my eyes.

If you could be anyone in the world who would it be and why?
I would probably be Babe Ruth. Number one because he was a bad b at what he did. Numer two because he inspired so many people and was an amazing role model.

If you won $10,000 what would you do with it?
I would kinda save it as life goes on and help my mom more with my family, put some on the side for college, and of course buy like 1,000 Kazooles and squeeze pops.

Who’s your best friend?
While you have a “best friend”, I have four best of THE best friends! They would be Tiffany, Callie, Alyssa, and Murphy. (:

Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
I would bury it under my trampoline, cause who would think to hide it there?
P.S. Just because I said I would bury there, does not mean go look to see if really have some there because my dogs will attack you.

What school activities are you involved in and why?
I’m in volleyball, basketball, power lifting track and softball. I do them because I love doing sports and because they keep me busy. I meet amazing people along the way as well.

Do you work anywhere? If so, where and what do you like about that job?
I work at Tacos OJ! I like it because I’m working with my friends and because I only work on Sundays and still get paid great money.

What do you plan on doing after graduating? Do you know what career you want to do/college you want to attend?
I plan on going to the University of Arizona. I will go to college there, play softball, and eventually go into the medical field to be an oncologist.

How has your family influenced you? Do you have any favorite memories of them?
My family has been influencing me. They are a big part of my life and always know how to push me when I want to give up. They will always be there for me no matter what.

Do you have a favorite quote or inspirational thought to share?
“With God, all things are possible.”
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing your game.”

“Everything happens for a reason.”
These are the quotes that keep me going when I’m struggling with something.

Favorite band/singer?
It’s a four-way tie with a Christian band “Women of Faith,” then “Secondhand Serenade,” “Rascal Flatts” and “Casting Crowns.”

Favorite TV show?
My favorite shows would be “Pretty Little Liars,” college softball games and “The X-Factor.”

Favorite movies?
“Monsters Inc.,” “The Notebook” and “My Sister’s Keeper.”
